Clinton says Obama 'all flash'

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 10:20:00

US Dem. candidate Hillary Clinton has called Dem. rival Barack Obama all flash and no substance ahead of the crucial Pennsylvania primary.

US Dem. candidate Hillary Clinton has called Dem. rival Barack Obama all flash and no substance ahead of the crucial Pennsylvania primary.

In an attempt to stall his advance to claiming the Democratic nomination, Clinton told Pennsylvanians on Saturday to think about the US trade and debt burdens, the growth of China and the restive Middle East when they vote on Tuesday.

Clinton said, "I don't want to just show up and give one of those whoop-dee-do speeches and get everybody whipped up. I want everyone thinking."

In turn, Obama spoke at Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, to several thousand supporters on Saturday, criticizing Clinton for being a game-player who cannot be trusted to say what she believes, saying, "I may not be perfect but I will always tell you what I think, and I will always tell you where I stand."

He added, "She's taken different positions at different times on issues as fundamental as trade, or even the war, to suit the politics of the moment. And when she gets caught at it, the notion is, well, you know what, that's just politics."

The two candidates have been taking jabs at each other for the past month trying to gather as many votes as possibly for the crucial Pennsylvania primary on Tuesday.
