Barack Obama has gained a double-digit advantage over his rival Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, a Gallup poll indicates.

For the third consecutive day, Obama holds a significant advantage over Clinton in national Democratic preferences, now 51% to 41%, said the Gallup Poll Daily Tracking.
According to the poll, from April 6-8, for the second time since January Obama has achieved a double-digit lead over Clinton, after a 10-point lead in poll conducted on March 27-29.
Obama now has also a slight 2-point advantage over Republican presidential hopeful John McCain among registered voters nationally (46% to 44%), while McCain and Clinton are tied at 46% each, noted the poll.
The Gallup Poll Daily Tracking also indicates that the presidential election remains highly competitive as neither party's candidate hold a significant advantage.
